What is the cost of fast, cheap and disposable fashion? These undeniable facts show the toxic evidence of how fast fashion is harming our environment. Usually when we think about pollution, we envision things like coal power plants, oil industries or even raw sewage streaming through our waterway pipes. However, the fashion and textile industry is the second largest polluter in the world.

Fashion is a very complicated business, involving many different materials, manufacturers and supply chains creating a huge carbon footprint. In my previous post, I talked about the different brands that were taking a step towards sustainable fashion and production. The real change in the clothing industry will only come if more big and affordable brands find a way to make and produce sustainable clothing. Meanwhile, consumers can focus on helping by changing how they shop and understanding what they are buying.
